Riyadh - The scouts of the world broke yesterday the one-billion hour-long work barrier in the global Scouts Peace Messengers Project before the end of 2021 expected to reach this figure by that time, during which more than 6 million initiatives were made around the world.
The project launched in September 2011 aims to make two-thirds of the world's more than 40 million scouts «peace messengers» active and able to change the world to the best by sending peace messages to 200 million people at least in the world. It is the best project that has seen continuity and widespread in many countries of the world, since the Scouts was founded in 1907.
The Project came in an agreement between late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and King of Sweden, Honorary President of the World Scout Financing Fund, King Carl Gustav, in recognition of Scouts as «peace messengers.» The initiative was launched from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in 2011 in the presence of the of King of Sweden. The initiative aims to inspire millions of scouts who are doing amazing works in their communities and motivate others to implement any scouting project that results in a positive change in the society. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has supported the project with more than $ 37 million at that time.
